Clinical research progress on acute 1,2-dichloroethane poisoning

1,2-dichloroethane, one of the high volatile organic solvents, is widely used in toy and footwear manufactures. Severe acute 1,2-dichloroethane poisoning incidents have been found in high frequency in recent years and the victims showed some new features different from previous reports, such as incident type,clinical manifestation and image characteristics. Therefore, we reviewed the case reports and research papers published in the last 10 years, both in Chinese and English,to summarize the research progress in the morbidity,poisoning mechanisms,epidemiology features, clinical manifestations, image characteristics of the brain, identification and diagnosis, treatment and prognosis, and so on.
