Demands of health education modes and knowledge of emergency patients of different ages

  • Objective To carry out health education better in emergency observation area,the emergency patients' demands of health education modes and knowledge of health were surveyed. Methods Totally 200 patients (100 males and 100 females)in emergency observation area were randomly selected and investigated with questionnaire regarding the demands of health education modes and knowledge. Results The patients had different requirements on different attitudes of the nurses and different health education modes or knowledge(P<0.01). Most patients cared the nurses' attitude when they were provided health education and wished the nurses to have an initiative. Most patients wanted to receive health education face-to-face by nurses and get knowledge on the used drug. The young and middle-aged patients wanted to get more knowledge on infusion medicine, while the aged patients cared the initiative of nurses very much. Conclusion The nurses should have enough patience,be active,take most acceptable way and deliver the most attended knowledge when they provide patients with health education.
