Differential expression on PRDX6 of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in patients with different stage silicosis

  • Objective The aim of this study was to analyze the expression of PRDX6 in lung lavage fluid of silicosis patients in different stages.
Methods The PRDX6 protein expression in both lung lavage fluid of pneumoconiosis patients, and the lung lavage fluid of normal lung segment bronchus of outpatients with comparability was measured with western blot method. The results in different groups or sub-groups were compared.
Results PRDX6 protein was expressed in the lung lavage fluid of both control group and silicosis patients. With the increase of fibrosis degree, the expression of PRDX6 protein in lung lavage fluid of silicosis patients increased gradually. The gray values of control group, stage I Silicosis group, stage Ⅱ Silicosis group and stage Ⅲ Silicosis group were 0.536 7 ±0.066 6, 0.567 8 ±0.072 8, 0.713 3 ±0.080 8, 0.7856 ±0.097 6, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The expression of PRDX6 in stage Ⅱ and stage Ⅲ silicosis patients was higher than that in control group and stage I silicosis patients (P < 0.05).
Conclusions PRDX6 protein may play an important role in the occurrence and development of silicosis, which may be of great significance in the prevention and treatment of silicosis.
