Investigation on medical emergency rescue management system in 179 hospitals in Xinjiang

  •   Objective  To evaluate the current situation of medical emergency rescue management system and to provide a basis for improving medical emergency rescue capability in Xinjiang hospitals.
Methods  During March to May of 2019, the current situation of emergency management, emergency system, emergency plan, emergency expert team and emergency drill of 179 second-class and above hospitals in Xinjiang were investigated, and the results were summarized and analyzed.
Results  The total development rate of emergency response system in 179 hospitals was 90.41%, with 66.17% for establishment of emergency plans and 57.79% for building emergency expert teams. In the past three years, the total implementation rate of emergency drills in 179 hospitals was 34.84%. The emergency plan, emergency expert team and emergency drill focused on the infectious diseases and natural disasters. Therefore, construction of emergency management system against severe burns, leakage of radioactive, toxic and harmful chemical substances, and other related emergencies needs to be strengthened. In terms of emergency plan formulation, emergency expert team setting and emergency drill development against 11 types of emergency events, the third-class hospitals were better than the second-class hospitals and the hospitals in northern Xinjiang better than those in the southern Xinjiang (P < 0.05).
Conclusions  In view of the nature of emergencies under the new situation, the medical rescue emergency management system in hospitals in Xinjiang should be established scientifically and pragmatically.
