Report on 2 protracted cases with uncured peripheral nerve damage after chronic n-hexane poisoning

  • Objective The clinical characterization of 2 cases with uncured peripheral nerve damage after chronic n-Hexane poisoning was discussed to help treatment of such cases. Methods The clinical data of these two cases were collected and summarized,and related literatures were reviewed. Results The uncured peripheral nerve damage mainly involved the autonomic ganglia and sensory ganglia. These implied that rare peripheral nervous disorder in the autonomic nervous system and sensory nerve cords occurred or accompanied. Conclusion For chronic n-Hexane poisoning cases with persistent peripheral nervous damage,we should consider the possibilities of other peripheral nervous disorders. It is noteworthy whether chronic n-Hexane poisoning could cause pathological changes of autonomic ganglia and sensory ganglia.
